(02-01-2006) Waplane 2.6.3 Release Notice - Several improvements on usability
Waplane 2.6.3 version is now ready. The earlier version update already had many improvements on design of the mobile user interface, PIM functions and several changes on Query Edit tool usability. Waplane 2.6.3 version update focuses on improving localization possibilities as well as developing more features to Query Edit tool.
There are also major improvements on PIM functions: with Waplane 2.6.3 the calendar synchronization is possible with SyncML and the mail system has a Unicode support for attachment reading.
Read the following improvement list to see what updates are now as an add-on to Waplane 2.6.3 version.
General improvements
- Admin client localization-> Possible to translate the administrator tool to local languages
- HTTP basic authentication support
- Cache control parameter-> Administrators can deside if Waplane pages are cached to the phone or not
- Improved migration application (GUI)
- Service icon selection from list
Improvements on Query Edit tool
- Waplane WSQ Tool to create web service queries, Java client for defining and creating connections (queries) to webservices based on the wsdl description of the query.
- Web Services (SOAP) client for defining and creating connections (queries) to webservices based on the wsdl description of the webservice.
- File system query - users can access files located on fileservers hard disk
- Database specific data types
- Several improvements to query edit admin UI
PIM
Mail:
- Folder cache in Domino mail-> faster opening of domino folders
- Unicode support for attachment reading-> doublebyte characters also supported
Calendar:
- Calendar synchronization with SyncML
